Medical AssistantsProvide direct patient care services of a medical nature in a clinical settingWork environment: Open workstation and clinical areaDress code: Scrubs, preferably Navy BlueComputer software: Health Management System (HMS), Microsoft OfficeEducational requirements: Must have Medical Assistant CertificationCandidate responsibilities:Provide direct patient care services of a medical nature in a clinical settingKnowledge of basic medical terminologyPhlebotomy skills as well as administering IM and Subcutaneous injectionsAbility to administer and read accurate blood pressure testingInterviewing patients and obtain a complete medical historyAbility to keep accurate recordsDistribute prescribed medicationsEffective communication skillsRequired/Desired SkillsSkill - Required /Desired - Amount - of ExperienceAbility to speak and understand English and communicate effectively - Required - 0Experience as a medical assistant in a clinical setting - Required - 1 - YearsHave completed and passed a medical assistant program - Required - 1 - YearsSkilled at taking and reading accurate blood pressures - Required - 1 - YearsExperience distributing prescribed medications to patients - Required - 1 - YearsExperience interviewing patients to obtain complete medical histories - Required - 1 - YearsExperience in phlebotomy administering IM and Subcutaneous injections - Required - 1 - Years
