Job description
Make a meaningful difference on your own schedule by driving cancer patients who lack reliable transportation. We have an urgent need in Polk County for drivers.
As a Road To Recovery volunteer driver, you'll provide safe transportation so patients can keep their treatment schedules and focus on healing . Rides are requested in advance for appointments primarily Monday–Friday.
Volunteers are encouraged to drive the patient to and from the appointment, but rides are listed as one-way segments . When you drive both legs, the time during the appointment is yours (run errands, grab coffee, work, or wait in a main lobby).
Volunteer drivers must :
Be age 18–84
Have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Use a reliable, insured vehicle
Pass background and motor vehicle record checks
Complete online training and use our online ride scheduling tool
