Flatwork Sewing AssociateCentury Chair Plant 3 - Hickory, NC 28601OverviewPosition Type Full Time Job Shift DayDescriptionThis position operates a sewing machine, joining fabric pieces for upholstered furniture.Essential DutiesAdhere to established sewing standardsAdjust machines to stitch various types of fabricsGood hand-eye coordination, concentration skills, and attention to detailReads and follows instructions to sew specs and notes providedMaintains equipment and work area in an orderly mannerSews Flatwork for different products, top stitch and weltWorks with different types of sewing machinesMust be able to work off production work ticket to sew fabric to requestWorks as part of a team to meet or exceed production goalsLearn additional functions by cross-training in other departments, as neededMust follow all safety policies and proceduresQualificationsPosition RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED preferredPrevious sewing experience a plusPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands and work environment expectations described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
