nBASIC PURPOSE
nMechanic will be responsible for the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of the Fleet road equipment including tractor, trailer, thermo-king, converter dolly and maintenance vehicles. Ensure compliance with all State and Federal trucking regulations. Mechanics will also be responsible for the documentation, completion, and to keep current the maintenance logs for all repairs and parts used daily. The position will be required to perform road rescue as needed.

n nBASIC PURPOSE: To provide a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment.
nMechanic will be responsible for the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of the Fleet road equipment including tractor, trailer, thermo-king, converter dolly and maintenance vehicles. Ensure compliance with all State and Federal trucking regulations. Mechanics will also be responsible for the documentation, completion, and to keep current the maintenance logs for all repairs and parts used daily. The position will be required to perform road rescue as needed.
nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
nnnTroubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.).
n
nnPerform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
n
nnReceive road calls, assign third party vendor, and work with business partners on plan of action.
n
nnMaintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules/regulations and government guidelines.
n
nnUtilize fleet maintenance software system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.
n
nnBackup to other maintenance shop personnel.
n
nnWillingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certificates.
n
nnOther duties as assigned by manager.
n
n nQUALIFICATIONS
nnnMust have 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
n
nnDiagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
n
nnSuccessfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
n
nnPrior experience in administering appropriate PM program.
n
nnMust furnish own personal hand tools.
n
nnAble to read and write legibly (e.g., to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, and enter information on reports if needed); basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide).
n
nnHigh school diploma or equivalent required.
n
nnMust possess a valid driver's license.
n
nnValid Class-A CDL license and DOT certification PREFERRED
n
nnExperience using fleet maintenance software PREFERRED
n
nnWelding ability PREFERRED
n
n nWORK ENVIRONMENT
nnnOnsite : The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility.
n
nnMust be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
n

nCompensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $25 and $35. This role may also receive overtime compensation.
