Job description
The Village of Lake Zurich is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to help maintain and repair gas, diesel, and electric municipal trucks, heavy equipment, and public safety vehicles.
Job Description: This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all municipal vehicles and will require the individual to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and install specialized emergency equipment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
4-5 years of experience in a mechanic role
Willing to work in a team environment & communicate effectively
Obtain a State of Illinois Class "A" (CDL) driver's license with airbrake, and tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire
Preferred qualifications: Working knowledge of heavy equipment
Diesel engines
ASE certified mechanic
