If you're passionate about print and have a knack for operating complex machinery, this is your chance to shine. We want a self-motivated Press Operator at our Sun Prairie facility, minutes from Madison, WI.This position operates equipment that combines digital printing technology with flexographic printing and converting capabilities. The Press Operator is responsible for machine setup, job changeovers, monitoring print quality, making press adjustments, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring jobs are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.With Printing industry experience comes a higher pay rate offer!SHIFTS AVAILABLE 1st Shift : Monday-Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm (30-minute unpaid break) 2nd Shift: 4-10/hour work days: Monday-Thursday 3:30pm - 2:00am (30-minute unpaid break) $1.50/hour shift premium WHAT DOES MY WORKDAY LOOK LIKE IN THIS ROLE?Set up, operate, and monitor Mark Andy Digital Series hybrid/conventional printing presses.Review job tickets, artwork, specifications, approved samples, and production requirements before beginning each job.Set up digital and flexographic components of the press according to job requirements.Install and properly position printing plates, cylinders, anilox rolls, inks, tooling, and other components as required.Load and thread rolls of material through the press and ensure proper web alignment and tension.Set and adjust press controls, including registration, impression, tension, speed, and other operating parameters.Complete job changeovers and press setups accurately and efficiently.Monitor digital and flexographic print quality throughout the production run.Inspect printed material for color consistency, registration, print clarity, placement, defects, and overall appearance.Compare finished product to approved samples and job specifications throughout the production process.Perform routine preventative maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting of press equipment.Maintain an organized and clean work area and ensure tools, materials, inks, and supplies are properly stored.Meet established production, quality, and efficiency expectations.Communicate job status, equipment issues, quality concerns, and other relevant information to supervisors and employees on subsequent shifts.Follow all company safety procedures, including required personal protective equipment and machine safety requirements.Perform other related duties as assigned.QualificationsEMPLOYEES WHO EXCEL IN THIS ROLE HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALITIES:Ability to read and understand production orders, job specifications, measurements, and approved samples.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.Ability to identify printing defects and make adjustments to maintain print quality.Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.Ability to distinguish colors and identify variations in print quality.Comfortable operating computerized equipment and learning digital press controls and production systems..Basic math and measurement skills.Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with supervisors, maintenance, quality, and other production employees.Willingness and ability to learn both digital and flexographic printing processes.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPrevious experience operating printing, converting, packaging, or other complex manufacturing equipment preferred.Flexographic, digital, or hybrid printing experience preferred but not required.Experience with Mark Andy printing equipment is a plus.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FUNCTIONS Stamina & Mobility: Ability to stand and walk on concrete surfaces for the duration of a scheduled shift (8–12 hours). Must be able to frequently bend, reach, crouch, or stoop. Weight Requirements: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally from floor to waist and waist to shoulder. Manual Dexterity: Constant repetitive grasping and fine motor manipulation of paper materials and machine components. Range of Motion: Frequent twisting of the torso and lifting above shoulder height. Sensory/Vision: Must possess tactile/touch sensitivity in hands and digits. Near and far visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required for quality control and safe machine operation. Work Environment: Ability to perform these functions in a manufacturing environment that may include high noise levels, varying temperatures, and paper dust.
