How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

nThe Flight Simulator Technician is responsible for performing maintenance functions on Full Flight Simulators, Flight Training Devices, Cockpit Procedure Trainers, and associated support devices to assure high levels of reliability and fidelity and meet pilot training, maintenance training, and FAA regulatory requirements.

nSummary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):

nnnCorrects identified discrepancies by troubleshooting electronics,computers, computer networks, hydraulics, visual, pneumatics, and mechanicalsystems to component level.

n

nnInstalls, replaces, cleans, repairs, and services various equipmentincluding visual generation/display systems, computers, computer networks,motion systems, electronic circuit boards, and circuits to componentlevel.

n

nnOperates, programs, and maintains PC, Motorola, IBM, and various otherhost and satellite computers and networks.

n

nnPerforms periodic maintenance and diagnostics on computer and peripheralequipment.

n

nnOperates and maintains electronic test equipment.

n

nnAccomplishes pre-flight, morning readiness, and FAA certificationchecks.

n

nnAccomplishes software archiving functions.

n

nnMaintains a thorough knowledge of Aircraft systems and their operation.

n

nnPractices safety conscious behaviors in all processes and procedures.

n

n nWhat you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

nnnRequires the ability to read and interpret electronic/electricaldrawings, schematics, and logic diagrams and be able to troubleshoot circuitsto component level.

n

nnRequires experience in operation of electronic test equipment in orderto identify and correct malfunctioning systems.

n

nnRequires the ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic circuits,computers, computer networks, visual generation/display systems, hydraulicsystems, input/output systems, pneumatics, mechanical, and flightinstrumentation.

n

nnFormal technical electronic training or equivalent military training andprevious simulator maintenance experience is required.

n

nnRequires a working knowledge of aerodynamics and of commercial cockpitinstrumentation and their relationship to the principles of flight.

n

nnRequires the physical ability to climb and work from platforms andladders and lift 50 lbs.

n

nnRequired to furnish personal tools as prescribed by Delta.

n

nnEmbraces a diverse set of people,thinking and styles.

n

nnPossesses a high school diploma,GED, or high school equivalency.

n

nnIs at least 18 years of age and hasauthorization to work in the United States.

n

nnConsistentlyprioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data

n

n nWhat will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

nGeneral knowledge of AIX, UNIX, LINUX, and Windows operating systems and of FORTRAN and C/C++ programing languages is preferred.
