Mobile Phlebotomist- Queens Manhattan FloatWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced phlebotomist to join our team in a float position, covering various Patient Service Centers (PSCs) in Queens and Manhattan. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of recent phlebotomy experience and be proficient with straight needles. This role requires reliable transportation and the ability to commute comfortably in Manhattan and Queens.ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and carry out decontamination tasks.Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection procedures to patients.Demonstrate techniques using straight and/or butterfly needles.Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure correct labeling.Centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.Verify test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy.Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperatures.Follow specific protocols to maintain specimen integrity during transport.Essential SkillsMinimum of 2 years' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.Proficiency in specimen collection, centrifuging, and using straight needles.Strong communication skills and customer service abilities.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Additional Skills & QualificationsSpanish-speaking preferred but not required.Work EnvironmentThis float position requires traveling to various PSCs in Queens and Manhattan, including locations such as East 90th & 18th Street in Manhattan, Astoria, Jackson Heights, Arverne, and Far Rockaway. The work schedule includes Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, Wednesday from 8 am to 7 pm, and rotating Saturdays as needed. The role includes reimbursement for mileage (over 30 miles daily), tolls, and parking, with travel time between sites compensated.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Astoria, NY.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
