Float Pool CNADepartment: Float PoolEmployment Type: Full TimeShifts Available: NightsHours: 12-hour shifts - 7:00pm - 7:00amFloating Departments: Medical-Surgical and Telemetry UnitsLocation: Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KSWe are seeking a Float Pool CNA, also referred to as a Med-Surg Tele CNA. The Float Pool CNA assist nurses by providing basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring patient safety for adults recovering from surgeries or illnesses while on heart monitors. Float Pool CNA's play a critical role in observing patients, reporting changes, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment to promote recovery.ResponsibilitiesBasic patient care: help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eatingVital signs monitoring: take and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturationMobility assistance: help patients get in and out of bed, walk, or use assistive devices.EKG lead maintenance: ensure telemetry monitors (heart monitors) are properly connected and functioning — though Certified Nursing Assistant's (CNA's) don't usually interpret heart rhythms, they might recognize when alarms go off and immediately alert registered nursesObservation: monitor patients for any physical changes (shortness of breath, chest pain, altered mental status) and quickly notifying the nursing staffQualificationsCurrent Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hireCurrent BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain currentPossesses knowledge of Medical TerminologyMinimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferredFacility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain currentEmployment Status: Full TimeShift: NightsEqual Employment OpportunityCompany is an equal employment opportunity employer.
