Details discussed during the interview process.Shifts Available: DaysHours: 12-hour shifts – 7:00am to 7:00pmEmployment Type: Full TimeFloating Departments: Medical-Surgical and Telemetry UnitsLocation: Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KSWe are seeking a Float Pool CNA, also referred to as a Med-Surg Tele CNA. The Float Pool CNA assist nurses by providing basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring patient safety for adults recovering from surgeries or illnesses while on heart monitors. Float Pool CAN's play a critical role in observing patients, reporting changes, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment to promote recovery.ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our float pool team. Under RN supervision, you will assist patients with daily living activities, provide basic nursing care, and help maintain a safe environment.Basic patient care: help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eatingVital signs monitoring: take and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturationMobility assistance: help patients get in and out of bed, walk, or use assistive devices.EKG lead maintenance: ensure telemetry monitors (heart monitors) are properly connected and functioning — though Certified Nursing Assistant's (CNA's) don't usually interpret heart rhythms, they might recognize when alarms go off and immediately alert registered nursesObservation: monitor patients for any physical changes (shortness of breath, chest pain, altered mental status) and quickly notifying the nursing staffQualificationsCurrent Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, preferred.Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferredFacility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current.Here are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare:Health, dental, and vision insurance optionsPaid vacation, sick time and holidaysBereavement leave, FMLA and other leave optionsEmployer 401K optionsTuition reimbursement optionsLife, disability, and other insurance optionsMany other amazing benefitsFull benefits at Prime Healthcare: StatusFull TimeEqual Employment OpportunityCompany is an equal employment opportunity employer.
