Job description

Form Carpenter ForemanForm Carpenter Foreman are required to perform a variety of tasks including erecting and setting forms for vertical and horizontal concrete structures and site work, per specifications and drawings.Responsibilities include reading and interpreting measuring tools such as tape measure, speed square, framing square, etc. to perform tasks accurately. They must fully understand plant north and drawing coordinates, assist in setting and placement of forms to proper elevations and location, prepare the base and install proper reinforcing. Experience and/or exposure in setting and erecting forms using a wide variety of materials and forming systems for vertical and horizontal concrete forming is required. They will assist in marking, cutting, and assembly lines on materials, shaping materials to prescribed measurements, and assemble, fasten with nails, dowel pins or glue.Additionally, they will assist in general carpentry tasks such as building and installing barricades, decks, shelves, and any other miscellaneous site needs and duties that may come up. They will also assist in placing and tying rebar, placing and finishing concrete, and disassemble, remove, and clean form materials. They will work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision, must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman, and must have basic knowledge of the construction processes involved in heavy industrial construction.They will support the project with other tasks as directed by supervision, communicate with foreman regarding any problems arising, materials required, or any hazards noted, and be able to work different shifts and overtime as required. They will work under production schedule pressure, attain set standards of accuracy, and perform duties in a safe manner.Qualifications include 4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience, NCCER Certification/License (preferred), and minimum 2 years of experience in supervisory role. They must be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations, participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors, set a personal example of safe behavior, follow all state, company, client, OSHA, and federal guidelines regarding health and safety, and practice and maintain good housekeeping by cleaning up their work area and jobsite after each task.Physical demands include working up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions, maintaining physical strength and stamina, using arms, hands, and legs fully, pushing, pulling, and frequently lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and stooping, kneeling, balancing, crouching, crawling, and climbing to perform job tasks. They must have stamina to perform this task repetitively and continuously for several hour intervals, be able to wear personal protective equipment, move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas, work at heights and abide by all safety and fall-protection requirements, evaluate information based on measurable standards, see details in objects or drawings, recognize slight differences in shapes and shadings, visualize objects in three dimensions from drawings, keep good balance and work at heights, see well, hear well, and coordinate the use of eyes, hands, and feet.This position is a full-time position scheduled to work typically 50 hours per week. Travel required up to 90%. Position requires presence directly on the Project Site location with intermittent travel to residence of record.
