Mannkind Corporation Engineer OpportunityMannKind Corporation focuses on the development and commercialization of innovative inhaled therapeutic products and devices to address serious unmet medical needs for those living with endocrine and orphan lung diseases. We are committed to using our formulation capabilities and device engineering prowess to lessen the burden of diseases such as diabetes, nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis, and pulmonary hypertension. Develop your skills, gain real-world experience, and make a meaningful impact in healthcare.We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to join the Formulation Development department supporting the formulation and process development of respiratory drug products in the MannKind pipeline.What You'll Be DoingSupport development and optimization of engineered particle inhaled dosage forms.Perform physiochemical property characterization of drug product intermediates.Support batch manufacture for development, pre-clinical studies.Design, execute, and interpret experiments to support formulation and process development, with supervision.Document, compile, review, and present data.Handle hazardous materials and chemicals in accordance with MannKind's safety policies and proceduresOperate and maintain laboratory equipmentComply with good laboratory practice including maintenance of laboratory notebooks and written proceduresObserve all Company, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines.What You Bring to the TablePursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or Pharmaceutical Engineering, preferably within 1-2 years of graduation.Strong foundation in science and engineering principlesStrong oral and written communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.Fluency in MS Office software.Demonstrates eagerness to learn new techniques and procedures.Accuracy in following instructions, generating data, and documenting data and procedures.Bonus Points If You HavePrior experience within life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or biotech industriesYou possess superior time management and organizational skills.Experience with general laboratory procedures is a plus.You have an intrinsic motivation to continually improve and optimize processes.You take the initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and act on them without needing constant direction.You are open to constructive criticism and use it to improve performance and grow professionally.When and Where You'll ShineFull-time commitment, Monday to Friday, onsiteLocation: Bedford, MA 01730Spring 2027: January 4 - June 25, 2027A reliable commute or the intention to find temporary housing before starting the Co-op is required.At this time, we are only able to consider candidates who do not require visa sponsorship, including those with a student visa.
