Job description
Formulation1st Shift Hours: 5:30am – 3:00pm, Monday-Friday (Overtime as production demands)2nd Shift Hours: 2:30pm – 11:30pm, Monday-Friday (Overtime as production demands)Position Overview:The formulation department is where the fresh pork is ground, the spices are added, and then blended to specifications for sausage making. This room is where the magic happens! The successful candidate will learn all the roles within the department which include, measuring/sifting spice, operating/emptying the blenders, operating the x-ray/fat machinery, and utilizing PIV forklifts to move combos of batter to staging. The successful candidate will also ensure compliance with safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.Responsibilities:Work together with other formulation members to obtain world class blending results in safety, yields, usages, and efficienciesParticipate in daily meetings and project teamsThink pro-actively and understand how formulation affects plant flowPrepare equipment for use by utilizing detailed checklists for inspection and assemblyPerform periodic wash-downs of equipment to prepare for different productsLearn and excel at every position within the departmentUse SAP software functions for the departmentComplete formulation documentation accuratelyMaintain the highest standards of detail as it relates to product specifications and qualityMust be able to obtain forklift license and keep safe driving recordAbility to perform responsibilities in a safe and efficient mannerComply with USDA regulations, GMPs, and safety rules at all times (including lockout/tagout)Willingness to work overtime as production demands
