Freight ClerkOur client, a leading organization in the agricultural industry, is seeking a Freight Clerk to join their team. As a Freight Clerk, you will be part of the Logistics Department supporting warehouse and shipping operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.Job Title: Freight ClerkLocation: Ames, IAPay Range: $25Shift: 7:00/7:30 - 4:00/4:30 pm (may change to 8:00 - 5:00 pm)What's the Job?Facilitate order fulfillment by processing shipment requests and preparing picklists and pallet signs for the warehouse team.Support warehouse team with inventory questions and assist with lot changes to ensure accuracy.Manage multi-drop shipments, ensuring all shipments are accounted for and load orders are properly documented.Coordinate freight activities by quoting, selecting carriers, booking freight, and preparing shipment documents.Monitor stock inventory levels, identify shortages, and request inventory transfers in coordination with warehouse management.What's Needed?Two years of office support experience with an emphasis in logistics preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office products and familiar with general office equipment.Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.Demonstrate high ethical standards, discretion, and professional conduct.What's in it for me?Opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.Engage in meaningful work supporting logistics and supply chain operations.Develop skills in freight management and inventory control.Be part of a team committed to excellence and continuous improvement.Potential for growth within the organization.Upon completion of waiting period associates are eligible for:Medical and Prescription Drug PlansDental PlanSupplemental Life InsuranceShort Term Disability Insurance401(k)If this is a role that interests you and you'd like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
