Job description
Front End Loader OperatorThe Front End Loader Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and quality-focused loading and unloading of bulk products to and from vessels, tanks, railcars, and trucks. This role operates a variety of heavy equipment and supports terminal operations through general labor, housekeeping, and equipment upkeep while adhering to established safety, environmental, and operational policies and procedures.ResponsibilitiesSafely and efficiently load and unload bulk products to and from vessels, tanks, railcars, and trucks.Operate front end loaders, skid steer, forklift, dozer, excavator, and other small equipment as assigned.Perform general terminal duties across all areas of operations, including railcar, truck, warehousing, and vessel activities.Consistently perform work that meets or exceeds the expectations of the supervisor and complies with published policies and procedures.Report equipment abnormalities or failures promptly to the supervisor.Carry out housekeeping tasks and general maintenance as required to maintain a clean and safe work area.Maintain and care for assigned equipment and tools to ensure proper function and longevity.Assist with cleaning, painting, and other general labor tasks as needed.Follow safety and environmental procedures and participate in required training.Perform any other terminal functions for which training has been provided and as instructed by the supervisor.Essential SkillsProven ability to operate heavy equipment, including front end loaders, skid steer, forklift, dozer, excavator, and other small equipment.Strong focus on safety and quality in all loading and unloading operations.Ability to follow supervisor instructions and adhere to established policies and procedures.Capability to work in all areas of terminal operations, including railcar, truck, warehousing, and vessel activities.Reliability in reporting equipment issues, abnormalities, or failures to supervision.Willingness to perform housekeeping, general maintenance, and general labor tasks.Comfort working at heights, including accessing stairs, railcars, and vessels.Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including rain.Additional Skills & QualificationsWillingness to work under periodic supervision while carrying out assigned duties.Openness to extensive training in railcar, truck, warehousing, vessel operations, safety, and environmental procedures.Ability to perform painting and cleaning tasks as part of general labor responsibilities.Commitment to maintaining assigned equipment and tools in good working order.Flexibility to perform any other terminal functions as trained and directed by the supervisor.Why Work Here?Employees benefit from a family-oriented work environment that emphasizes support and teamwork. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
