Job TitleCashierJob DescriptionProvide customer service, assist with management of the department, maximize all financial opportunities, and assume the management responsibilities in the absence of the Manager and Assistant Manager. Demonstrate the Company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.ResponsibilitiesModel Customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer serviceGuarantee customers receive fast and friendly checkout service by assisting them to the shortest line and unloading purchasesIn the absence of Customer Service Manager, Customer Service Assistant Manager, and Customer Service Relief Assistant Manager:Provide peer coaching for all cashiers following best practicesMaintain compliance with corporate policies, shrink control guidelines, checkstand maintenance/layout, safety guidelines/standards, and labor agreementsRespond to customer situations as a result of system problems and cashier needs, including performing cashier functions, when requiredMonitor the 15-minute chart and scheduleAudit Playland operational standardsPromote and follow Company initiativesRespond to verbal customer comments/complaints/requestsComplete customer incident and associate incident/accident report formsAll store management work with associates to manage all common associate areas (i.e. break rooms and training areas) to make sure they are inviting in appearance and reflect "Our People Are Great"Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodationQualificationsMinimum High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus a minimum of six months Fred Meyer cashier experience and one-two years related retail experience; or combination of relevant education and experienceMinimum 18 years of age/19 in Idaho and AlaskaAbility to pass drug testAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work weekends on a regular basisAbility to travel independently on a rare basisMaintain confidentialityAccuracy/attention to detailAbility to organize/prioritize tasks/projectsValid driver's licenseCPR/first aid certificationDesiredKnowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure
