Medical AssistantPalo Verde is looking for a seasoned Medical Assistant to check in patients, check out patients, collect copayments, and greet all patients upon arrival to the clinic presenting a warm and caring environment for all who walk through our doors. In addition to reception duties, this position would cover Medical Assistant/Phlebotomy duties as needed.The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Greet PatientsVerify patient demographics and insurancesUpdate any changes in G4/ONCO EMR (patient's account)Scan insurance card(s)Notify Billing Department of insurance changes/additionsCollect and post copays/paymentsGenerate receipt for copays/paymentsMaintain daily copay/payment collection processNotify appropriate department of patient arrivalBalance daily receipts against Payment Review ReportSchedule appointmentsFollow up appointment telephone requestsWalk In ptsNew Patients go to New Patient SchedulerReschedule cancelled appointmentsCross train new front desk personnelOther tasks as requested by managementOther tasks Site SpecificQualification/Requirement:Ability to apply a common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.Ability to deal with problems involving occasional, last-minute changes in generally standardized situations.Education/Training/Experience:High school diploma or a GEDSix months related experience and / or trainingCertified Medical Assistant preferredPhysical Demands and Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
