Patient Access Representative IOur patients are our number one priority! We're committed to giving children back their childhood!Location: Frisco - Ambulatory Surgical CenterMonday - Friday40 hours per week, discretionary per supervisor.Duties/ResponsibilitiesManages a high volume of incoming and outgoing telephone callsResponsible for completing assigned workqueuesAccurately schedule and re-schedule patient appointments in a timely mannerEffectively communicate and coordinate patient appointments with downstream departmentsContacts families to verify their information, insurance coverage, explain benefit eligibility, and refer families to financial counselors to enroll in financial assistanceAccurately pre-register specific data elements prior to the patients scheduled date of servicePerform all aspects of insurance verificationsAdd insurance coverage and update the billing system to reflect the insurance status of the patientObtain authorizations and pre-certifications as required for all procedures; work with clinical staff to obtain additional clinical information for benefit reviewResponsible for all correspondence from Insurance companies to be sent to HIM for scanningProvide clerical and administrative support as requiredCreate reports for tracking and trending purposesAlter provider schedule template in electronic medical record (EMR)Assist with departmental coverage as requestedRequired Skills/AbilitiesHigh School education or equivalentPreferred 2 years working in a medical office settingPreferred experience in insurance proceduresPreferred experience in medical appointment scheduling
