General Purpose

Conducts special studies and analyses, develops alternatives, presents recommendations to management and influences management decisions. Researches , analyzes, develops and implements new strategies, programs, and/or processes in response to changing internal and external conditions. Coordinate s Fuel Resources' support of Net Power Cost testimony and data requests .

Responsibilities

* Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual FERC/regulatory reports.

* Process internal controls to maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

* Support Corporate Accounting in developing monthly general ledger entries.

* Provide coal cost detail for regulatory filings and answer data requests from internal and external sources.

* Represent the company in meetings and proceedings with senior management and regulatory commissions.

* Support coal supply negotiations.

* Assist in maintaining policies, procedures, business processes, and contract activities.

* Develop operational knowledge over control center activities.

* Develop new processes and procedures that impact the business.

* Identify areas of potential risk and propose process improvements and innovations.

* Compile, analyze and interpret operating data.

Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, business management or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

* A minimum of five years experience in accounting or a related field.

* Experience in financial statement preparation and analysis

* Strategic, analytical and proficient computer skills.

* Ability to work with all organizational levels, regulators, and joint owners.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to establish trust, maintain confidence, and understand social behavior and interactions.

* Project management and leadership skills, including the ability to work as a team member, maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments.

Preferences

* Advanced degree and/or CPA designation.

* Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

* Experience working with legal contracts and ability to interpret and apply contractual language.

* General understanding of utility economics and accounting, FERC Code of Regulations, and utility commission rules and regulations.

* Experience in SAP Financial Systems modules.
