About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping operations. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, dependable, and comfortable handling the full accounting cycle with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions
Record and reconcile bank and credit card transactions
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
Prepare and process invoices, payments, and deposits
Perform monthly bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
Maintain accurate general ledger records
Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
Manage payroll and related payroll tax filings, as applicable
Prepare sales tax and other required financial reports
Maintain organized and accurate accounting records
Supervise office staff responsible for: Payroll, Accounts Payable, Invoicing, Accounts
Receivable, Cash Collection, Loss Control, and Purchasing.
Review job costs and overheads for corrective action
Establish approval of procedures for capital expenditures and general purchase
Assist with budgeting, cash-flow tracking, and financial analysis
Coordinate with the CPA/tax accountant for year-end closing and tax preparation
Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues promptly
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
Qualifications
4+ years of full-charge bookkeeping or job costing accounting
3 + years of people management experience within an accounting or finance department
Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle
QuickBooks proficiency is preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Experience with payroll, sales tax, and financial reporting preferred
Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, V lookups, H lookups, VBA, and Macros, etc.)
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
CPA designation preferred
Prior Construction Accounting Experience Highly Preferred
