ANNOUNCEMENTSouthwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for a full-time, grant-funded Custodian. This position is covered under the agreement between the College and Service Employees Union Local #116. Your application will be placed in a pool for review as positions become available.POSITION DESCRIPTIONIn accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this is a full-time position assigned a 40 hour schedule each week. The work involves considerable manual labor throughout the work shift. Materials used in the performance of duties include various chemical cleaning agents and supplies. Equipment used in the performance of duties includes power-assisted cleaning equipment. This position is contingent upon external funding.QUALIFICATIONSFunctional reading and basic math skills as evidenced by a High School Diploma or GED certificate is required. Ability to operate power-assisted equipment and to use chemical cleaning agents in an approved manner to avoid risk of injury to self or to others and to avoid damage to equipment, fixtures and furnishings is required. Prior custodial work experience of a minimum of one year is required. Valid driver's license required.STARTING PAY AND HOURS$21.15/hr. as determined according to the provisions of the agreement between the College and the Union.BENEFITS & PERKSBenefit availability and eligibility may vary from the summary listed below.
