At Wegmans, our Maintenance Mechanic team ensures that our stores, facilities, and equipment are professionally maintained, helping to provide our customers with the freshest best tasting products, and our employees with a safe and productive work environment. In this role, you will work in collaboration with team members to complete repairs and preventative maintenance on various refrigeration and HVAC equipment while following proper safety protocol.
Perform basic repairs and preventive maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC equipment
Identify and diagnose issues with refrigeration and HVAC controls systems; repair self-contained cases and repair rooftop HVAC units of all types; Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers; Create and maintain preventative maintenance records on all equipment serviced; maintain truck inventory
Deliver incredible service to both internal and external customers, and maintain Wegmans high standards of quality and food & human safety procedures
5 or more years related work experience
~ Technical training through apprenticeship, RSES, trade school, or equivalent work experience
~ Proficient with the use of a laptop computer, possessing the ability to maintain, troubleshoot and operate building management systems, on board control systems, and manufacturer’s PLC based control systems
~ Sound mechanical ability, as well as knowledge of welding and plumbing
~ Supermarket/restaurant related equipment experience, including knowledge of applicable codes, regulations and operating standards is preferred
~ Independent ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical systems is preferred
