Full-Time Nutrition Services EmployeeBuena Vista City Public Schools is seeking a dependable and hardworking full-time Nutrition Services Employee to assist with the preparation, serving, and clean-up of meals for students and staff. This position supports the school nutrition program by helping provide healthy, safe, and appealing meals in a clean and welcoming cafeteria environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assist with food preparation, cooking, serving, and portioning meals according to established guidelines.Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements.Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, serving areas, dining areas, and storage areas.Wash dishes, utensils, trays, pots, pans, and food preparation equipment.Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supplies.Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly.Serve students and staff in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner.Follow meal pattern requirements and portion control procedures.Assist with cashiering or meal counting, if assigned.Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or supply needs to the cafeteria manager.Work cooperatively with cafeteria staff, school staff, students, and administrators.Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.Experience in food service, school nutrition, or cafeteria work preferred but not required.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Ability to work well with students, staff, and the public.Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.Must meet all background check and employment requirements of Buena Vista City Public Schools.Physical Requirements:Stand and walk for extended periods of time.Lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 40 pounds.Bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions.Work in a kitchen environment with heat, cold, noise, and cleaning supplies.Safely operate food service equipment.Work Schedule:This is a full-time position following the school calendar and assigned work schedule. Hours may vary based on the needs of the school nutrition program.
Salary:
