Job description
Role Overview:
The Radiation Therapist applies ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with physician directives, ensuring precise and safe treatment delivery. They operate radiation equipment, perform complex technical procedures, and participate in quality control to maintain safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver consistent, accurate therapy tailored to individual treatment plans.
Assess patients, perform procedures, and provide age-appropriate care for adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Document accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Assist colleagues and seek help when necessary.
Report adverse reactions immediately and educate patients and families on side effects and treatment aids.
Follow safety protocols, including radiation safety measures and fall precautions.
Manage patient set-ups, simulate treatments, and coordinate scheduling.
Participate in on-call rotations and serve as a clinical instructor for students, providing evaluations and feedback.
Qualifications & Skills:
Associate’s Degree from an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
ARRT Radiation Therapy certification and BLS certification required upon hire.
Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
Ability to treat and simulate patients accurately.
