Job description
Physical Therapy AssistantUnder the general direction of the rehabilitation manager, provides physical therapy services to patients in the outpatient following the plan of care established by a physical therapist.Minimum QualificationsEducation, Certification, and/or Licensure:Graduate of an approved associate degree program as a PTACurrent State PTA LicenseCPR certificationExperience:Two (2) years of experience with a varied patient populationCore Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Other duties may be assigned.Under the supervision of a physical therapist, provides physical therapy services, and reassessing the patient's status on each visit and ensuring quality of care as evidenced in the clinical record.Coordinates patient care with other clinical team members ensuring optimal patient care and communication as evidenced in the clinical record.Completes all required paperwork following policies and procedures to ensure that documentation reflects care provided and the outcomes achieved as evidenced in the clinical record.Maintains and enhances personal knowledge as well as promoting professional standards in physical therapy.Instructs patient and caregiver in treatment programs, precautions and equipment use as necessary and documents patient/caregiver demonstration of instructions provided.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
