As a Store Manager Trainee, you will train on all aspects of successfully running a store in preparation for managing your own store. Responsibilities include supervising daily store activities, ensuring overall store performance, staffing, scheduling, developing operational plans, and mentoring the team.
Position Details
Type: Full-Time
Hours: 45 hours/week
Starting Wage: $37.50/hour
Potential Year 1 Earnings: Up to $142,500 (salary + bonus)
Duties and Responsibilities
Demonstrate ALDI's Mindsets, Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.)
Supervise daily operations and team performance to ensure high customer service standards
Communicate and model company values to foster teamwork
Handle customer concerns and resolve issues
Maintain store signage, product quality, and freshness
Assist in hiring, training, and evaluating staff
Manage schedules and performance expectations
Conduct store meetings and identify development opportunities
Achieve payroll and loss budgets
Manage cash audits and monitor the competitive environment
Provide product feedback and manage inventory
Ensure a safe environment and proper equipment operation
Physical Demands
Stocking merchandise, lifting up to 45 pounds, and performing store tasks
Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, and walk regularly
Qualifications
Must be 18+ years old
Ability to work independently and in teams
Customer service and leadership skills
Ability to interpret policies and manage performance
Experience with budgeting and operating equipment
Organizational skills and attention to detail
State requirements for handling alcohol (if applicable)
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
At least 3 years in retail, management experience preferred
Travel
Willing to train at multiple locations as needed
