Role Overview
The Subspecialty Surgical PA Service at Vassar Brothers Medical Center is seeking a full‑time board‑certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join its surgical APP team.
Responsibilities
Manage in‑house shifts, caring for surgical floor patients in specialties such as Urology and Gyn‑Oncology.
Perform history and physicals for consultations or admissions from the emergency department or inpatient floors for the surgery department.
Confer with attending physicians, nursing staff, and other advanced practice providers to develop a plan of care and ensure optimal quality patient care.
Provide coverage on holidays, weekends, and call obligations; 40‑hour work week (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.) with a four‑day work week.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and NCCPA certified, or a Nurse Practitioner with licensure.
BLS and ACLS certification required.
New York State license to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
New graduates will be considered.
Benefits
Highly competitive compensation package of $125,000 to $160,000 annually, comprehensive benefits, and generous allowances for CME and professional dues/expenses. The position offers opportunities for growth in O.R. first assisting.
