Experienced Full Time Utility Meter ReadersWe're currently hiring for Experienced Full Time Utility Meter Readers to cover the Huntsville, AL area! If you consider yourself an independent worker and enjoy being outside, this job is for you!All of our field staff are provided with:Safety gear including company boot (allowance), vests, glasses, etc.Handheld deviceCompany vehicleComprehensive Benefits including Medical, Dental and Vision insurance, 401K, Life insurance and short term DisabilityPaid Training, and after the initial classroom training and field training employees will be transitioned to being paid on a piece work basis!Responsibilities:This position is responsible for reading water meters and recording volume used by residential and commercial consumers to ensure accurate consumption and billing. May perform visual meter inspection to assess the condition and overall operation of the meter and note any visible defects or issues.Requirements:Valid driver's license (Must be able to present a physical Driver's License card, other documentation is not accepted)Must be able to work overtime when duties cannot be performed within a normal work scheduleWorking Conditions and Hours:Outdoor work environmentNormal working hours are 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday through FridayKnowledge and Abilities:Successfully complete the company's training program and pass applicable written and field testsSuccessfully pass MeterProLearn and apply safety measure relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related mattersOlameter is one of the largest meter servicing companies in North America providing services to over 300 different utility companies.Olameter is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
