Job description

Full-Time Veterinary Criticalist (No Non-Compete Agreement)

Location: Frederick, MD

We build veterinary medicine around great people.

Partner Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center (PVESC) is a women-founded and led organization built around a simple idea: great medicine starts with creating an environment where great people can thrive. Our leadership team has a track record of building healthy, engaged teams and created Partner Veterinary to give veterinary professionals the autonomy, support, and flexibility to do the work they love—without sacrificing their lives outside of work.

We believe the best hospitals are built locally, by the people who know their teams, clients, and patients best. Rather than relying on distant decision-makers, we empower our hospital leaders and clinicians to shape how medicine is practiced and how their teams work together. We value passion, collaboration, and continuous growth—and there are no non-compete clauses here. Your career can evolve with you, adapting as your interests, goals, and life change.

The Opportunity

We are excited to welcome a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Criticalist to our growing team in Frederick, Maryland . As our second criticalist, you'll have the opportunity to help shape and grow our critical care service while working alongside an established multidisciplinary specialty and emergency team.

You'll lead the management of critically ill hospitalized patients and receive transfers from the ER and other services requiring resuscitation and/or ongoing intensive care. You'll also provide consultation and support to other departments for complex cases, procedures, and challenging anesthesia.

The critical care team is part of a specialty network collaborating with experts across Neurology, Surgery, Oncology, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Emergency Medicine , with opportunities to learn from and contribute to colleagues across disciplines.

We're looking for a criticalist who wants to practice excellent medicine and help build something better—someone who enjoys collaboration, values autonomy, and wants to make a meaningful impact.

If you're ready to help us reimagine what veterinary medicine can look like, we’d love to talk.
