Elmet offers competitive pay, bonuses, benefits, and opportunities to grow.$20.50 - $25.50 per hour, plus a 20% shift differential$250 perfect-attendance bonus every month — up to $3,000 per yearQuarterly production bonus of up to 9%, based on company performance4% company match on retirement savingsBenefits starting Day OneThree medical plan optionsDental and vision coverageCompany-paid life insuranceCompany-paid short-term and long-term disabilityPaid time offPaid company holidaysTuition assistance$1,000 employee referral bonusInternal growth opportunitiesYour ScheduleThis is a full-time, 6pm-6am position at our Coldwater, Michigan manufacturing facility.What You'll DoAs a Furnace Operator, you'll help keep production running safely, consistently, and according to our quality requirements.During a typical shift, you'll:Safely operate and monitor production equipmentPerform machine setups and product changeovers according to the production scheduleMonitor production processes and make sure equipment is operating properlyConduct routine equipment inspectionsHelp troubleshoot equipment issuesAssist with minor equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance activitiesUse measuring devices to verify products meet requirementsComplete production records and work orders accuratelyMaintain accurate inventory transactions and product traceabilityOperate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other industrial equipment as neededKeep equipment and work areas clean, safe, and organized according to 5S standardsCross-train on additional equipment and processesSupport other production needs as requiredRequirementsYou Could Be a Great Fit If You:Have 1–3 years of manufacturing or machine-operation experienceHave a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experienceCan perform basic mathAre comfortable learning and using measuring devicesCan follow production instructions and established proceduresPay close attention to detailsTake safety and product quality seriouslyCan maintain accurate production recordsAre comfortable learning multiple machines and processesCan work independently while also supporting your teamHave strong communication and problem-solving skillsCan consistently work the 3rd Shift scheduleExperience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or other industrial equipment is a plus.What Success Looks LikeWe don't expect you to know everything about our furnaces or manufacturing processes when you arrive.Successful Furnace Operators:Put safety firstShow up consistently and ready to workLearn how to set up and operate equipment correctlyMonitor equipment and recognize when something isn't operating as expectedComplete setups and changeovers efficientlyMeet production expectations without sacrificing qualityMaintain accurate production and traceability recordsTake care of the equipment they operateHelp identify equipment issues before they lead to unnecessary downtimeKeep their work area clean and organizedCommunicate clearly when problems ariseLearn additional equipment and processesSupport teammates as production needs changeLearn More.
