Job description
Medical Office AssistantAttend to patients on the phone and in person. Coordinate and organize appointments and documentation to facilitate the smooth running of the healthcare environment and support delivery of quality patient care.Candidate must have medical office experience.Main Job Tasks and ResponsibilitiesGreet patientsRegister patients according to established protocolsAssist patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation including medical insuranceEnsure patient information is accurate including billing informationInform patients of medical office procedures and policyMaintain and manage patient recordsMove patients through appointments as scheduledAnswer incoming calls and deal with inquiriesTransfer calls as requiredSchedule patient appointmentsCollect co-pays and paymentsReport statistics as requiredSchedule tests, scans and outside appointments for patientsObtain external medical reports as required by medical professionalsRespond and comply to requests for informationDeal with incoming and outgoing postComplete other clerical duties as assignedMaintain stock of forms and office suppliesEnsure reception area is well maintained, neat and cleanSafeguard patient privacy and confidentialityEducation and ExperienceHigh school diplomaKnowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosisKnowledge of computer and relevant software applicationsKnowledge of general administrative and clerical proceduresWorking knowledge of healthcare insurance preferredKey CompetenciesCommunication skillsInformation collection and managementPlanning and organizingAttention to detailCustomer service skillsAdaptabilityConfidentialityAbout UsEyenamics NY, located on Queens Boulevard in Forest Hills NY, provides state-of-the-art care for eye conditions including Cataracts, Glaucoma, and Neuro-Ophthalmology.
