Job DescriptionHuman Resources announces an opening for a 1.0 FTE Registrar. This is a 260-days, Grade G-10 position located at Williamsburg Middle School.Minimum Education, Training, and Experience RequirementsGraduation from high school or GED, requiredAdditional coursework, certificates, or degrees in the use of computers and teleprocessing and information systems preferredPrior work history in a school system or similar setting preferred.Equivalent combinations of education and experience that would provide the above noted knowledge, skill, and ability may be considered.Proof of fluency (oral and written communication) in English and Spanish is required. As assigned, a valid driver's license is requiredRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Good knowledge of computer technology utilizationsAbility to meet deadlines on time for required reporting purposesAbility to accurately maintain complex data files and to prepare reports from files and records.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, support staff, students, and families.Ability to perform work independently and accurately under deadlines.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Knowledge of enrollment and residency procedures.Essential Functions of the Class (May not include all duties performed; not all incumbents perform all essential functions delineated.)Performs a wide variety of registration and student information processing tasksCreates a positive and welcoming experience for families and students new to APS as part of the student registration process.Operates a variety of computer applications and enters information on each student, from registration to graduation, including class assignments, schedule changes, transfer grade histories, and other student information.Maintain student academic records in compliance with state and federal requirements.Enters, maintains and retrieves information from the student information system.Performs responsible administrative support tasks as required or assigned.Performs other duties as assigned.Salary: $24.25- 43.76 per hourIt is the policy of the Arlington School Board, as stated in Policy G-2.30, Employee Relations – Equal Employment Opportunity - that "Employment opportunities shall not be restricted, abridged or otherwise adversely affected on the basis of race, national origin, creed, color, religion, gender, age, economic status, sexual orientation, national origin, marital status, pregnancy status, veteran status, genetic information, gender identity or expression, and/or disability."Please Note: Arlington Public Schools receives a high volume of applications for many positions.
