Gas Technician Assistant / Heavy Equipment OperatorAvenal Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a Gas Technician Assistant / Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Avenal, CA!Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with the occasional Saturday work as needed.Compensation: Starting pay is $22-$26 per hour, based on experience. Our commitment to running a successful, growing business creates endless opportunities for career advancement and a culture that values happy, motivated team members.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist our Gas Technician with duties such as pipe welding, pump installation, flare monitoring and being trained on reading other gas related equipmentChecking, monitoring, cleaning, and collecting data from gas wellsClean and repair leachate or water pump by lifting and lowering 100 foot long cablesOperate Dozer, Excavator, and Haul Truck to support well and pump installationConduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipmentProvide assistance to customers and team members as requiredResponsibly operate a company vehicle for parts running as needed, ensuring timely and safe delivery of materials.Working ConditionsWork is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and occasional rain.The position involves physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.The environment may be dusty, noisy, and require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hearing protection, gloves, and safety boots.There will be exposure to machinery and heavy equipment, so safety protocols and precautions are strictly followed.Minimum Job Requirements2+ years of heavy equipment operating experienceAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamAbility to lift 50 pounds unassistedMust pass a pre-employment background check and drug screenValid driver's license with clean recordAbility to work effectively in various outdoor conditions, including exposure to weather elements, physical labor, and a dynamic work environment.To be considered for this position, please complete an application at Further instructions will be provided once you select your position of interest.We offer excellent benefits, including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, long-term & short-term disability, life insurance, 401k retirement, and unlimited opportunities to "Connect with Your Future."Waste Connections is an equal-opportunity employer.
