Location: Cortlandt Manor, NY
Pay Rate: $3,000-$3,200/24hr call shift | $475/hour call-back (2 hours gratis included)
Assignment Type: Locum Coverage (Jan 2027-March 2027, High Possibility of Extension)
Schedule: Weekend Call Only | Friday 8:00 AM through Monday 8:00 AM | Minimum 1 Weekend/Month

About the Opportunity
A hospital in Cortlandt Manor, NY is seeking a Gastroenterologist to provide weekend call coverage from January through March 2027, with a high possibility of extension. Temporary privileges may be available, though the credentialing file must be complete. This is a call-only assignment, with no scheduled procedures, clinic, or endoscopy suite responsibilities. Locums will not be required to perform elective procedures.
Call is taken from home or a nearby hotel, though providers may need to come into the hospital for consults and procedures, and must stay within 30 minutes of the hospital. Patients are seen only as a result of on-call consults, and all consults must be performed on-site. Volume varies, from no new patients to a maximum of about five in house over a weekend, with up to roughly 5 call-backs per shift. The hospital has a 24/7 hospitalist program, so there is no admitting.
Responsibilities
Provide 24-hour weekend call coverage for standard GI consults (no trauma)
Perform on-site consults for patients referred while on call
Perform endoscopic procedures as needed (ERCP and advanced endoscopy experience preferred)
Collaborate with the 24/7 hospitalist team and hospital staff
Document patient care accurately in Epic
Requirements
Active New York State medical license required (IMLC not accepted)
Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
Endoscopic procedure experience required
ERCP and advanced endoscopic experience preferred
Local candidates only
Availability for a minimum of 1 weekend per month, Friday through Monday morning
COVID-19 vaccination required
Epic EMR experience
Schedule Details
Weekend call begins at 8:00 AM Friday and ends at 8:00 AM Monday (if an 8:00 AM Friday start is not feasible, coverage may begin after 5:00 PM Friday)
The hospital needs all weekends covered
24-hour call shifts
Coverage dates: Jan 2027-March 2027, with high possibility of extension
Credentialing timeframe: 60-90 days for full credentialing
Travel
