Job DescriptionThe Northport VAMC is looking for a Gastroenterologist to joing their dynamic team! Our Northport VA Medical Center is a teaching hospital that provides a full range of services, with state-of-the-art technology as well as education and research.
Northport VAMC affiliated with the State University of New York (SUNY) Medical School at Stony Brook. We offer fully integrated residency programs in general medicine, general surgery, and specialties in cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology/oncology, pulmonary, nephrology, infectious disease, rheumatology, urology, orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, anesthesiology, dermatology, pathology, and rehabilitation medicine.

General duties:
The major duties of a Physician - Gastroenterologist include, but are not limited to:
Provide comprehensive GI care for outpatients, inpatients, and nursing home patients.
Provide educational support and supervision of Gastroenterology trainees
Diagnose, treat, and manage gastrointestinal diseases, including Hepatitis C.
Perform endoscopic procedures (EGD, PEG, colonoscopies)
Offer consultative services to the VA Medical Center and associated CBOCs.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff under the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model.
Report to the Chief of Gastroenterology
