Job Overview - Gastroenterologist
Compensation: $250 - $325/hour (Dependent on Experience)
Location: Monroe, NY
Schedule: Part Time (In-Office)
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Gastroenterologist in Monroe, NY for our client, providing outpatient evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions. This role will provide comprehensive GI consultations, perform screening and diagnostic colonoscopies, develop individualized treatment plans, and coordinate ongoing care with other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities as the Gastroenterologist:
GI Consultations: Evaluate and diagnose patients presenting with acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions.
Colonoscopy Procedures: Perform screening and diagnostic colonoscopies, including appropriate evaluation, intervention, and follow-up care.
Patient Treatment: Develop individualized treatment plans for gastrointestinal disorders involving the digestive system and related organs.
Preventive Care: Provide colorectal cancer screening, preventive gastrointestinal care, and patient education based on clinical needs.
Care Coordination: Collaborate with primary care physicians and other specialists to support comprehensive patient management and continuity of care.
Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, procedure documentation, treatment plans, and follow-up information.
Qualifications for the Gastroenterologist:
Education: MD or DO degree, completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency, and Gastroenterology fellowship are required.
Licensure: Active and unrestricted New York State medical license is required.
Certification: Board certification or board eligibility in Gastroenterology is required.
Experience: 1+ years of gastroenterology experience is preferred, with demonstrated experience and competency performing colonoscopies required.
Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of outpatient gastroenterology, colorectal cancer screening, and diagnostic GI procedures is required.
Technical Skills: Appropriate training and credentials to perform colonoscopies and related gastrointestinal procedures are required.
