Job description
Opportunity:
Physician (MD) - Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology
Job Details:
Coverage dates run from December 25th through January 1st, beginning at 7:00 AM
ERCP training is required for this position
Must hold active Indiana license, CSR, and DEA to be considered
Must be Board Certified in Gastroenterology
Physician will be on call for 24 hours, seven consecutive days
Responsibilities include consults, inpatient care, and transfers
Support staff includes APPs, a rounding nurse, and the GI team
Average of 20 patient encounters per shift
Required procedures include diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography)
Preferred procedural skills include upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, cautery/laser fulguration, variceal injection, PEG placement, esophageal dilatation and manometry, small bowel biopsy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy with biopsy and polypectomy, endoscopic ultrasound, liver biopsy, and Sengstaken/Blakemore tube insertion and management
BLS and ABLS certifications are required
