Job description
Opportunity:
Physician - Gastroenterology
Job Details:
Locum position covering 1 week per month for a minimum of 6 months with potential for extension
100% inpatient, hospital-based practice setting serving adult and geriatric patient populations
Average daily volume of approximately 8 follow-up patients and 6-8 new consults per day
24-hour call coverage with in-house requirement from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, followed by pager/beeper overnight
Call schedule runs Saturday 7:00 AM through the following Saturday at 6:59 AM with a call ratio of 1:4
Level II trauma center environment
EMR system: Epic
Board Certification in Gastroenterology required
Gastroenterology fellowship training required
ACLS required
ERCP experience preferred but not required
Michigan license required at time of name clear
Ability to perform outpatient and hospital-based GI procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, and advanced GI procedures required
Clean background required; no malpractice or license issues, no exceptions

The gastroenterology department supports a robust inpatient consultation service with a high daily patient volume, offering locum physicians the opportunity to work within a well-established and reputable health system. The facility utilizes the Epic EMR platform and is equipped to support advanced gastrointestinal procedures and complex patient care needs.
