Facility:
This is a Level II trauma center providing comprehensive inpatient hospital-based care to adult and geriatric patient populations. The facility utilizes Epic EMR and offers strong institutional support within a well-established health system.
Opportunity:
Physician - Gastroenterology
Job Details:
Locum Tenens coverage needed 1 week per month for a minimum of 6 months with potential for extension, targeting a January 2027 start
100% inpatient, hospital-based practice setting serving adult and geriatric patient populations
Average daily volume of approximately 8 follow-up patients and 6-8 new consults per day
24-hour in-house call coverage running Saturday 7:00 AM through the following Saturday at 6:59 AM, with in-house presence from 7a-7p followed by pager/beeper overnight
Call ratio of 1:4
Must be Board Certified in Gastroenterology
Gastroenterology fellowship training required
Active Michigan medical license required at time of name clear
ACLS and BLS through AHA required
Clean background required with no malpractice or license issues - no exceptions
Ability to perform outpatient and hospital-based GI procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, and advanced GI procedures required
Estimated credentialing timeframe of 90-120 days; temporary privileges are not available
Approved travel includes domestic airfare, lodging, and rental car per travel policy guidelines
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
