This role offers a unique opportunity to help build and expand a leading digestive health program, supported by a premier academic health system. The primary market serves a population of 350,000, with a secondary market exceeding 750,000, creating high demand for expert GI care. The multidisciplinary approach and commitment to innovation make this health system a top destination for both patients and healthcare professionals.Key ResponsibilitiesShape and grow a dynamic digestive health program to meet a rapidly expanding community need.Receive quaternary support from a major university hospital with access to weekly tumor boards and clinical trials.Collaborate with a primary care network of 140 providers to ensure a strong referral base and continuity of care.Work with an interdisciplinary cancer team at a leading cancer center with significant local market share.Local teaching opportunities with rotating GI residents, fellows, and medical students.State-of-the-art facilities with the latest diagnostic and therapeutic technologies.Utilize EPIC EMR for streamlined patient care coordination.QualificationsMD or DO requiredActive DEA license or the ability to apply for one prior to or upon hireActive Illinois medical license requiredBoard Certification or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology (Board certification must be obtained within 5 years)Bi-annual CPR certification preferredAbout the Greater Rockford AreaRockford, IL, was recently named the number one housing market in America by The Wall Street Journal.
