Steady Schedule • Collaborative Team • No Burnout
MaineHealth Pen Bay Medical Center is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for a series of scheduled locum blocks in 2026. This is an ideal assignment for physicians who value predictable hours, a supportive environment, and a practice pace that won t wear you out .
They are open to IMLC and traditional licensure , and we will fully assist with the process.
Assignment Details Schedule:
Monday Friday, 8-hour day + 30-minute lunch
No weekends, no after-hours call

Setting:
Mix of Endo + occasional clinic (1 day/week)
Inpatient consults during daytime hours
Day call (7a 4p) for urgent inpatient/ER questions
patients/day in clinic
Full OR support staff
Onsite lab + X-ray
Epic EMR
Procedures Required:
Lower GI endoscopy
Sigmoidoscopy
Colonoscopy
Upper GI endoscopy (biopsy, foreign body removal, variceal banding, diagnostic)
Advanced procedures:
Preferred but not required
Anesthesia:
Always both an anesthesiologist + CRNA in the room

Requirements Board Certified Gastroenterology ABMS or AOA
Active ME license or IMLC LOQ preferred but open to traditional licensure (licensing candidates encouraged to apply)
ACLS + BLS
COVID & flu vaccination
Institutional ADR 35% preferred
