Job Details Specialty: Gastroenterology Position Type: Locum tenens physician Location: Tyler, Texas Start Date: 10/15/2026 End Date: 10/21/2026 Duration: 6 days Estimated Weekly Pay: $6,160 - $7,290 Patient Volume: 5-7 patient encounters per shift Credentialing Timeframe: 30-60 days Board Certification: Required Nearest Airport: DFW (Dallas/Fort Worth) Job Requirements MD or DO with active physician credentials Board certified in Gastroenterology or eligible based on facility requirements At least 1 year of experience in gastroenterology practice, GI consults, or procedural coverage Current certifications required: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, and BLS Experience performing advanced GI procedures and inpatient consults Ability to independently manage a busy endoscopy schedule Willingness to complete credentialing within the outlined timeframe Responsibilities Perform scheduled colonoscopies in a Monday through Friday workflow Evaluate and manage inpatient gastroenterology consults from the prior night Provide GI lab coverage for follow-up services when indicated Perform upper and lower GI endoscopy procedures, including biopsy and polyp excision Support ERCP, EUS, PEG placement, liver biopsy, and other advanced GI procedures as needed Complete procedures such as esophageal dilation/manometry and sigmoidoscopy Assist with urgent GI needs and support continuity of care in a high-demand healthcare environment Apply now to explore this locum tenens gastroenterology physician job in Tyler, Texas and join a team dedicated to exceptional patient care.
