Job description
Gastroenterology Technician IIIThe Gastroenterology Technician III (GT III) proficiently performs a variety of activities that support the nursing and medical staff of the GI Lab, which includes preparing supplies, equipment, and room for procedures; handling of specimen and cleaning/disinfecting scopes and other equipment according to standards; and troubleshooting equipment appropriately. The GT III demonstrates and role models personal and professional effectiveness.Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalentThree (3) Years Work Experience as a gastroenterology technicianSociety of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) Program or SGNA Advanced Associates Program (OR) or Endoscopy Technician ProgramTwo (2) Years Work Experience as a gastroenterology technicianLicensure & Certification:Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red CrossCommunication Skills: Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)Proficiencies:Medical Terminology KnowledgeWork Schedule: Flexible, Holidays, On-Call, Overtime, Weekends
