Position: Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist - General
Location: Eureka, CA 95501
Estimated Weekly Pay: $9,980-$10,520
Start Date: January 1, 2027
End Date: Ongoing coverage
Coverage Type: Inpatient anesthesia services
Schedule Type: Clinic and call
Call Coverage: Weeknight beeper call and 24-hour weekend beeper call
Shift Structure: Weekday shifts may vary from 8 to 12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 8 per day
Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 days
Schedule Expectation: Night and weekend coverage required
Case Mix: Broad anesthesia practice with a strong variety of surgical specialties
Job Requirements MD or DO with Anesthesiology training
Active medical license and DEA registration required
Board certified or truly board eligible in Anesthesiology
Minimum of 1 year of anesthesia experience required
Strong experience with general anesthesia for adult and pediatric patients
Experience with spinal, epidural, and regional anesthesia
Experience with obstetrical, neurosurgical, thoracic, complex vascular, and complex orthopedic cases
Comfortable with pain management techniques, post-op epidurals, and extremity blocks
Proficient in ventilation management and acute volume/blood pressure management
Skilled in central line and arterial line placement
Team-oriented and comfortable supporting a shared call schedule
Responsibilities Provide safe, effective anesthesia care across a wide range of surgical cases
Manage adult, pediatric, obstetrical, neurosurgical, thoracic, vascular, and orthopedic anesthesia needs
Perform and support spinal, epidural, and regional anesthesia techniques
Deliver pain management services, including post-operative epidurals and extremity blocks
Monitor and manage ventilation, hemodynamics, and intraoperative patient stability
Place central and arterial lines as clinically indicated
Participate in clinic and call coverage, including nights and weekends
Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia colleagues to ensure high-quality patient care
Maintain thorough and timely clinical documentation
