Seeking a locum tenens anesthesiologist in Houston, Texas? Join a high-acuity anesthesia team serving a busy Houston healthcare community with a wide variety of complex cases and strong metropolitan access.

Position: Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist
Location: Houston, TX 77090
Start Date: November 1, 2026
Duration: 24 weeks
Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,740-$3,200
Hours per Week: 36
Shift Duration: 12-hour days
Schedule: 3 days per week with a mix of daytime coverage, restricted call, and unrestricted daily call, including weekends and holidays
Practice Setting: High-acuity hospital anesthesia coverage
Job Requirements Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology
Cardiac fellowship training and TEE certification strongly preferred
Experience preferred; new graduates may be considered
Ability to manage solo cases and collaborate effectively within a care team model
Comfort covering a broad range of complex surgical and procedural cases
Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and communication skills
Responsibilities Provide anesthesia care for a diverse mix of complex cases, including trauma, cardiac, ENT, GI, neurosurgery, oncology, orthopedics, pulmonary, general surgery, urology, and bariatrics
Manage daily clinical coverage and participate in restricted and unrestricted call rotations
Deliver safe, high-quality anesthesia care for solo cases and collaborative care team workflows
Support patient care across high-acuity service lines as needed
Apply advanced skills in cardiac anesthesia and transesophageal echocardiography when needed
Maintain clear documentation and effective communication with the surgical and anesthesia teams
