Job description
General AssemblerWe are seeking a General Assembler to support mailbox production across multiple manufacturing departments. This role performs hands-on assembly work using a variety of hand tools while meeting safety, quality, and productivity standards. Assemblers may be assigned to different product lines based on operational needs. A willingness to learn, become cross-trained, and rotate positions is essential for operational flexibility and growth.Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble mailbox components using hand tools such as rivet guns, drills, screwdrivers, mallets, and wrenchesPerform tasks including riveting, joining, installing hinges, trim kits, decals, key tags, rods, arms, and springsWork on assembly lines in multiple production areas based on staffing and production needsInspect parts and assemblies to ensure quality standards are met using visual checks, gauges, or other inspection toolsMeet established production rates while maintaining quality expectationsParticipate in cross-training and rotation across job functions as neededSafety & Quality ExpectationsFollow all safety rules, procedures, and ISO requirementsWear required PPE at all times (steel or composite toe shoes required)Attend and actively participate in safety meetings and trainingReport all injuries, near misses, or safety concerns immediatelyMaintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standardsFollow established processes to minimize scrap and reworkTeamwork & Continuous ImprovementWork cooperatively with supervisors and team membersAssist with training and supporting coworkersContribute ideas for process improvementsPromote a respectful, safe, and positive work environmentQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredManufacturing, assembly, sheet metal, or machine shop experience preferred but not requiredAbility to follow verbal and written instructions, including prints and routersBasic math skills and strong attention to detailWillingness to learn new tasks, become cross-trained, and rotate positionsAbility to safely operate hand tools and production equipmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for 10 or more hours per shiftAbility to lift up to 50 lbs, with or without assistanceFrequent repetitive motions, bending, reaching, and handling of partsAbility to use hand tools, pallet jacks, and hand trucksAbility to work in a manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise levels
