Job TitleSealed Air Corporation seeking a mechanically inclined General Assembler to join our equipment production team in Ayer, Massachusetts.Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for assembling mechanical components and equipment according to blueprints, work instructions, and specifications. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on skills, ability to use hand and power tools, and a basic understanding of mechanical systems, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesAssemble mechanical parts and sub-assemblies using hand and power tools Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and follow work instructions Install components such as brackets, fasteners, bearings, and hardware Perform basic measurements using tape measures, calipers, and gauges Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy and quality Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow all safety procedures and company policies Assist senior assemblers as needed Report defects, material shortages, or equipment issues to supervisor Other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED, preferredMechanically inclined with basic knowledge of tools and equipmentAbility to use hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, etc.)Ability to read basic blueprints or willingness to learnUnderstanding of basic hardware (metric and standard)Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detailAbility to lift to 40 lbs. and stand for extended periodsStrong work ethic and reliabilityPrevious manufacturing or assembly experience, 1 to 2 years preferredBasic understanding of mechanical systems or automotive repairFamiliarity with torque specifications and measuring toolsMechanical aptitudeUnderstanding of electrical wiring and schematics, preferredProblem-solving skillsAbility to follow instructionsTeamwork and communication skillsTime managementWillingness to learn and grow within the companyWork EnvironmentManufacturing settingExposure to machinery, noise, and moving equipmentPPE required (safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, hearing protection)May require overtime depending on production needsBenefits and Perks• 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Disability insurance • Employee assistance program • Employee discounts • Flexible spending account • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid elder care • Paid time off • Parental leave • Professional development assistance • Retirement plan • Tuition reimbursement • Vision insurance
