Job description
Summary: Looking for a Dental professional that seeks to improve the oral health of patients, work towards the prevention of future oral health concerns and helps patient with the appearance of their smile. It is most often a person's primary care dental provider. This means the general dentist is who individuals would go to for routine checkup and cleaning. One of their main goals is prevention, but general dentists can also treat a range of concerns that develop, as well as, types of dental trauma.
nnJob Duties:
nnRemove decay from teeth and fill cavities
nRepair cracked or fractured teeth and remove teeth
nStraight teeth to correct bite issues
nPlace sealants or whitening agents on teeth
nAdminister anesthetics to keep patients from feeling pain during procedures
nWrite prescriptions for antibiotics or other medications
nExamine X-rays of teeth, gums, the jaw, and nearby areas for problems
nMake models and measurements for dental appliances, such as dentures, to fit patients
nTeach patients about diet, flossing, use of fluoride, and other aspects of dental care
nUtilize dental equipment efficiently and effectively
nEducates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
nDocuments dental care services by charting in patient records.
nMaintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
nMaintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and
n regulations.
nProtects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
nMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
nContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
nDeals with public and staff, both in person and over the telephone, in tactful and professional
n manner.
nPerforms other duties as assigned
n nnEducation/Skills/Qualifications:
nnLicensed to work in the state of New York as a Dentist
nGraduate of an accredited college of Dental Medicine
nCPR certified
nKnowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in the area of expertise
nMinimu1-year experience in a primary care clinic
nLegal authorization to work in the United States
nA valid State Driver's license with clean records and access to the insured automobile
nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills required
nLeadership and organizational skills essential
nBilingual especially in Spanish preferred
nComputer literate preferred
nSelf-motivated and flexible to daily patient schedule and/or clinic needs
