General ForemanSOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide.This position sits within SDI Services, a SOLV Energy affiliate company, and is posted on SOLV Energy's careers site to connect great talent with meaningful opportunities. While you will apply through SOLV Energy, all day-to-day work, responsibilities, and decision-making for this role will reside within SDI.The General Foreman directly supervises and coordinates activities of foremen, journeymen, construction trades workers and their helpers. Responsible for oversight of one or more construction projects resulting in successful project completion. This role is located full-time on a jobsite in Kirtland, NM. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.Position Responsibilities And Duties:Ability to perform all foreman job responsibilitiesSupervise foremen, journeymen and various crews on construction siteProvide drawing interpretationConduct regular inspections of the work to check for inconsistencies and deviations from company-established quality standardsPlan and schedule work and keep records of the materials used and the progress made on a jobOrder supplies and equipmentReport on personnel, costs, and safetyDirect the use of machines and materials being usedEnsure the project is constructed to code and according to plans and specificationsExamine and inspect work progress and equipmentCoordinate the work timely and efficiently in a safe environmentIdentify, address and resolve issues and problems as or before they occurDevelop and maintain positive relationships with field personnel and subAnalyze and plan installation and construction of equipment and structuresDiscuss blueprints and plans with contractorAssist with resolution of union grievancesOther duties as assignedMinimum Skills or Experience Requirements:7-10 yrs. experience with construction, concrete &/or masonry work & crew/job managementGraduation from a standard high school or vocational school and experience as a journeyman carpenter, including some supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.Working knowledge of all crafts and ability to read and understand specifications for all tradesUnderstand project floor plans, fixture drawings, construction drawings, electrical plans, lighting plans, and construction codes and local/state ordinancesFamiliarity with office equipment to include computer, calculator, radio, and fax.Knowledge of OSHA lawsFamiliar with union contracts and procedures.Knowledge of job scheduling, planning, expediting and cost controlProblem solving abilityStrong sense of urgencyApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.SOLV Energy Is an Equal Opportunity EmployerAt SOLV Energy we celebrate the power of our differences.
