Job Title: General Ledger Reconciliation Specialist (Mortgage Accounting)

nIntroduction
nVillage Capital & Investment LLC is seeking an experienced Escrow Specialist II to join our Mortgage Operations team in Henderson, Nevada. This position is an in-house role within our mortgage company and is focused on post-closing settlement review, compliance analysis, and issue resolution.
nWe are looking for a detail-oriented professional with strong title and escrow experience who enjoys reviewing files, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring loans meet all investor and regulatory requirements after closing.
nKey Responsibilities
nnnReconcile accounts. Balance complex general ledger accounts monthly.
n
nnManage AMB data. Navigate AMB software to track mortgage-specific financial transactions.
n
nnIdentify discrepancies. Research, trace, and resolve financial variances.
n
nnPost journals. Prepare and record monthly adjusting journal entries.
n
nnVerify transactions. Match bank statements and loan funding data against internal records.
n
nnSupport audits. Prepare reconciliation schedules for internal and external auditors.
n
nnMaintain documentation. Keep organized digital records of all reconciliations.
n
n nQualifications
nnnEducation. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
n
nnSystem experience. Hands-on proficiency with AMB (Accounting for Mortgage Bankers) software.
n
nnIndustry knowledge. Solid understanding of mortgage loan accounting and funding processes.
n
nnWork experience. Minimum 2-3 years of dedicated general ledger reconciliation experience.
n
nnExcel skills. Advanced knowledge of VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, and pivot tables.
n
nnCore skills. Strong analytical thinking, high accuracy, and strict attention to detail.

n nnPreferred Qualifications
nnnExperience in post-closing operations, collateral review, or mortgage quality control
n
nnBackground handling title curative matters and recording issue resolution
n
nnFamiliarity with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and VA guidelines
